My hands-on approach to sustainable living is grounded in collaborative design. Your project will be personalized to create the landscape of your dreams. Together, we'll develop a vision of your ideal outdoor space and brainstorm ways to maximize the potential of your yard as a source of sustainable food, natural beauty, and entertainment for you and your family. Whether you're looking for a comprehensive design for an edible or native garden or a consultation for a do-it-yourself project, I'm committed to making your vision a reality.

My Process
Initial Consultation
Once we decide we’re a good fit (after a contact form submission and a phone call), we’ll arrange a site visit at your home for a 60-minute consultation and evaluation of your outdoor space. We’ll explore together to determine how your landscape would benefit from hardscapes, plantings, garden structures, drip irrigation, water catchment, and other enhancements. These elements offer functional improvements as well as inspiration for your yard. We'll discuss the possibilities for an edible garden—from nut and fruit trees to ornamental plantings of evergreen blueberries and sage, I want your landscape to taste as fantastic as it looks! We’ll also talk about services and fees.
Design
After we decide to work together, we'll schedule a preliminary design meeting with all decision-makers involved -- your partner, family members, etc. Together, we'll explore your wish list for the garden of your dreams, determine a budget and timeline for your project, and I'll take photos and measurements of your outdoor space. You'll have the opportunity to review a scaled drawing of a proposed design plan, and we’ll discuss any additions or alterations. I'm committed to creating an outdoor space that reflects your needs and vision. I want us to have an engaging, creative collaboration that allows you to get the absolute most out of your landscape.
Installation
Our goal is to have your sustainable landscape installed quickly so you can enjoy it! Once the design is finished, there are two ways I can help:
Project Management: I’ll handle the project management from beginning to end working with my team of expert craftspeople to assure your project supports the health of your household, the community, and the planet.
Design Support and Permaculture Coaching: Whether I help you create a Sustainable Landscape Design or not, I'm pleased to offer design support and coaching for do-it-yourself urban homesteaders who want the support and guidance of a professional landscape designer, but still want to get their hands dirty.
